Schillo Needs Enlightening

Share

Poor Frank Schillo. He still doesn’t get it.

“Just try to remember when you last used a county service in Thousand Oaks,” Councilman Schillo says in his letter to the editor on March 3.

Let’s carry that a little further, using the Schillo theory of county government. Haven’t ever used the Fire Department? There shouldn’t be one. Haven’t ever been to court? Then, why pay to have them? Haven’t ever been in the County Jail? Scratch that from the budget.

Reality is harsh. At one time or another, given different circumstances in our lives, any one of us could be in need of services of last resort. County government serves that need.

Education can be enlightening. I urge Councilman Schillo to try it for a change.
