‘California, Here I Go’ a Disservice to State

At a time when the future of the state of California depends on attracting new businesses to the state, keeping existing employers and expanding the job market, your Sunday cover article in the Real Estate Section entitled “California, Here I Go” was an incredibly irresponsible piece of journalism. I have no objection to your reporting that real estate prices in many parts of the country are considerably lower than in California, but this feature article, complete with glorious four-color photographs was appalling.

I would also like to point out that the publication costs for this section of your newspaper were more than covered by the thousands of dollars paid by local real estate firms for the ads that followed your front-page article. While the realtors paid you to try to sell their local wares, your headlines were screaming “Go buy elsewhere, not in California.”

I was, and still am, repulsed!
