Lockheed Contract Rejection Expected: About 11,000 union workers at Lockheed Corp. are expected to reject the aerospace company’s latest contract proposal, union officials said. On Sunday, 94% of union voters at Lockheed’s Palmdale plant rejected the proposed contract and 87% voted for authorizing a strike. Employees in Sunnyvale, Calif., were scheduled to vote Monday night on the contract, which would provide small cost-of-living wage raises, increase the cost of health insurance and cut pay for laid-off workers who have been called back to their jobs. Workers in Marietta, Ga., will vote Saturday. “Hell will freeze before we back that contract,” said Johnny Wall, president of the International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 709 in Marietta.
