Biopool Posts $188,292 Profit in 4th Quarter

Biopool International Inc., a Ventura maker of blood diagnostic kits, reported profits for the fourth quarter and all of 1992, in contrast with year-earlier losses.

Biopool earned $188,292 in the three months that ended Dec. 31, while its sales rose 26% to $956,898. A year earlier, it lost $202,470 on $762,160 in sales.

The company said its full-year profit totaled $626,670, compared to a loss of $351,652 in 1991, and its annual sales jumped 83%, to $4.87 million from $2.66 million.

Biopool said the turnaround reflected an aggressive strategy of penetrating new markets, expanding existing markets and introducing new products.
