Satellite Firm Gets $3-Million Ecuador Job

COSTA MESA — Satellite Technology Management Inc. said Tuesday that it has won a $3-million contract to modernize the air traffic control systems at Ecuador’s 40 airports. The contract was awarded to the Costa Mesa company by the Montreal-based International Civil Aviation Organization, which is sponsored by the United Nations. The project, slated for completion in 1995, will be funded by Ecuador and the United Nations. Satellite Technology will build a hub station in Quito to transmit and receive satellite information.
