A murder defendant who escaped from the Beverly Hills Courthouse was captured Thursday morning in Kern County, authorities said.

David Wall, 27, was arrested without incident when he walked out the rear of an Adams Street house and into an alley, said Cmdr. Jack Campbell of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. Wall is charged with murder and kidnaping in the Jan. 2, 1992, slaying of Dennis Horn, 37, who was taken from a Gardena stable and shot in the head. His body was found in Puerco Canyon in Malibu. The whereabouts of Wall, who escaped Wednesday, were reported by an acquaintance who came to the station about 9 a.m., Campbell said.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Rich Erickson said Wall had met with his attorney and was facing cross-examination in his trial Wednesday afternoon when he escaped from a Municipal Court conference room. Wall apparently pushed out a metal security screen that separates inmates from lawyers, headed for a hallway and then out a door.
