Showing the Human Side of Officers
As a police officer’s wife, I usually have to read or listen to media police stories with my defenses up. Thank you for letting your readers know that Howard E. Dallies Jr. was a human being, a husband and father, loved and respected by his peers, and a loss that will be sorely felt in Garden Grove.
I cringe at the media’s often-used image of the police officer as a faceless, mechanical and brutal warrior. Let’s remember that our officers are people--Daddies, Mommies and spouses who put their lives on the line every day to make our communities safer places to live and work.
