Detroit Suburb to Seek $250 Million From Chrysler: Officials in Highland Park, a poor suburb of Detroit, reportedly will ask Chrysler Corp. for $250 million in exchange for the auto maker’s move to affluent Auburn Hills. The figure is based on a deal Chrysler struck with Kenosha, Wis., after Chrysler decided to close an assembly plant there in 1988, according to the Detroit News. Kenosha officials threatened to sue Chrysler when the auto maker announced it was closing the plant two years into a five-year pledge to keep it running.
