Military Base Closings

Share

This is one constituent and defense industry consultant who is not pleased by the California congressional delegation’s successful effort to “save” several military installations from being considered for closure. Their lobbying and the President’s response smack of “business as usual” pork-barrel politics.

Any legitimate complaints that we might have about the political motives of the creators of the hit list should be aired in the public hearings to come--not in the back rooms of the White House.

One more beef: As day by day the world and domestic orders disintegrate, our delegation grabbed both the President and the vice president “after a White House meeting to discuss the spotted owl.” What?
