MRV Communications’ Profit Leaped in 1992

MRV Communications Inc., a Chatsworth producer of electronic components, said its profit jumped to $560,000 last year from $189,000 in 1991.

The higher earnings in the year ended Dec. 31 came on an 84% surge in sales, to $4.42 million from $2.40 million.

The company, which issued its initial stock offering to the public in December, said the gains reflected the introductions of new products and stronger foreign sales.
