MOORPARK : School Board Will Discuss Curriculum
The Moorpark school board tonight will discuss a new growth and development curriculum that includes AIDS education and a revised policy on student questioning by law enforcement officers on campus.
Both items have generated extensive public comment in recent months.
The growth and development curriculum, called “Standards of Achievement,” is the product of two years of work by a committee of teachers, parents, administrators and community leaders.
The new policy on the questioning of students on campus by sheriff’s deputies came at the request of some members of the school board who felt that the district should do more to protect students from interrogation while at school.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Moorpark Community Center, 799 Moorpark Ave.
