SIMI VALLEY : Body Discovered in Auto in Ravine

A body was found Tuesday in a vehicle discovered at the bottom of a ravine off the Simi Valley Freeway, east of Simi Valley, officials from the Ventura County Fire Department said.

Few details about the accident, including the gender and identity of the victim, were available Tuesday night.

The crash occurred at Rocky Peak Road near Santa Susana Pass Road, officials said.

County firefighters determined that the accident may have gone undiscovered for several days. The California Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are investigating the death, officials said.
