2 Plead Guilty in Kennel Cocaine Case

Share

Two Colombian nationals pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to distribute powder cocaine embedded in fiberglass dog kennels.

Henry Bustos and Harold Satizabel, accused of working for the Cali drug cartel, face 10 to 12 years each in federal prison when they are sentenced July 15. There is no parole under federal guidelines and inmates must serve at least 85% of their sentences.

In exchange for the guilty pleas on one count, the prosecution dropped two additional counts against the men, according to deputy federal public defender Kenneth M. Miller, who represented Bustos.
