ACCIDENTAL POOL: The first time Darlene Stinson of Costa Mesa stepped into a pool hall, she was just a youngster with some friends looking for a ladies’ room. “The owner invited us back to play any time, and I fell in love with it,” she says. . . . She got pretty good too. Stinson is a former champion of the Southern California women’s amateur and semi-amateur circuit, which begins its first 1993 event this weekend at the Shark Club in Costa Mesa.
