A man who hijacked an Indian Airlines jetliner surrendered eight hours later and freed all 205 aboard. The hijacker, who identified himself as Hari Singh, a 37-year-old Hindu, said he was protesting Hindu-Muslim violence that has killed 2,000 Indians since December and corrupt politics. The 192 passengers and 13 crew members, including six Americans and nine other foreigners, left the Airbus A300 unharmed.
