International Remote’s 4th-Quarter Profit Jumps

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc. reported a sharp increase in its profit in the fourth quarter and for all of 1992.

The Chatsworth maker of urinalysis workstations saw its earnings jump to $295,631 in the quarter that ended Dec. 31 from $106,698 a year earlier. Its revenue grew 49%, to $2.37 million from $1.59 million.

For the year, International Remote reported a $772,377 profit, in contrast with $172,171 in 1991. Its revenue totaled $8.01 million, a 37% increase from $5.84 million.

The company attributed the gains to increased sales of instruments, service and supplies, improved manufacturing and field service margins and continuing control of operating expenses.
