The Fullerton Market opens for the season Thursday, offering fresh produce, crafts and live entertainment.

About 20 farmers are expected to sell vegetables and fruits, said coordinator Ann Mottola, who designed the market after one she used to shop at in Rome.

“It’s a lot more relaxing than shopping indoors,” Mottola said, adding that people come to socialize as well as shop.

Musicians will perform at the market, which is in its second year. Mottola said she is looking for more musical groups who want to play there.

In addition to produce, vendors will sell household plants, personalized books, jewelry, glass figurines and wood crafts.

The market, which is open from 4 to 9 p.m. every Thursday until fall, is on Wilshire Avenue, between Harbor Boulevard and Pomona Avenue.
