LAGUNA BEACH : Officials Warn of Public Projects

Share

Motorists should watch out for the next month or so for various public improvement projects that will affect roadways in Laguna Beach, city officials say.

The public works are to replace and repair sewer lines and storm drains and, while most of the construction will not have a large impact on traffic, officials are asking motorists to keep an eye out for signs that will warn of future road closings.

Current projects include:

--Work to repair a storm drain at Bluebird Canyon Drive and Saling Way. The storm drain was damaged by the recent series of storms. A city-hired contractor is clearing brush in preparation for the repair work that will close Bluebird Canyon Drive during a portion of the work, which will last a month.

--More storm damage repair is underway at a drain near Glenneyre and Calliope streets. Work crews have cleared vegetation on the site and will begin slope and drain repair when water levels in a stream passing through the site have dropped off.

--Sewer line replacement will be underway in four locations in April along High Drive. Some alleys may be temporarily closed during the work, which is expected to be completed in a month.

--New storm drain pipe being installed in the 1000 block of Glenneyre. Expected to be complete by April 1, the new pipe will replace an open drainage channel and provide an additional catch basin.
