Countywide : United Way Invites Grant Applications
All nonprofit organizations that serve Orange County residents are encouraged to apply for a United Way of Orange County grant.
Organizations must provide one of the following services:
* Assistance for hungry and homeless people.
* Care for the elderly.
* Care for the physically and sexually abused.
* Care for children.
* Health care.
* Mental and emotional care.
* Prevention and treatment for people who abuse alcohol or other drugs.
Applications are due at a United Way office in Irvine, Laguna Hills, Huntington Beach or Anaheim by May 3 at 4 p.m.
Dozens of grants totaling about $530,000 will be awarded in January.
