THEATER BEAT : ‘My Mind’ Mired in Indecisions

An actor’s indecision about what to do with his life might be interesting, but in “Sometimes I Can’t Tell the Difference Between L.A. and My Mind!,” James Nemec’s solo “performance play” at the Norris Fine Art Gallery, his questioning quickly becomes tiresome.

“Sometimes” doesn’t let its fictional actor Freddy Madison decide much of anything. As a performance piece, it’s visually dull and uneventful. Under Xander Berkeley’s direction, Nemec is best when he’s not playing Freddy, when he becomes other characters. Then the show lights up briefly.
