DANA POINT : Green’s the Theme of Planet Party

About 60 environmental groups will participate in a save-the-planet party in the Dana Strands parking lot on Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Recycling Generation Festival will promote environmental awareness in South County. The fair will take place in the parking lot at Selva Road and Pacific Coast Highway.

Music, food and entertainment will be available throughout the day at the event, which is free. Arts and crafts will be available for sale.

Funds raised by the fair will go toward starting a recycling program at Saddleback College.

Participating groups include: Greenpeace, the Native American Club of Saddleback, Dana Hills High Students Against a Vanishing Environment, the Sierra Club, the Surfrider Foundation, the Audubon Society and the Green Party, among others.
