A Coca-Cola Co. promotional game dubbed “Numbers Madness” has backfired on the company like a shaken soda can.

The game, with a prize of $8,250, challenged customers to match a number inside their bottle caps with a figure printed daily in newspaper ads.

But a wrong number was printed March 19 and about 3,000 people showed up demanding their prize.

A boycott has been started, but Coca-Cola has refused to pay up and the case will probably end up in court.
