Countywide : Crime Stoppers to Distribute Honors
Ventura County Crime Stoppers will present its Crime Stopper of the Year award today during a reception honoring those who have helped the program.
The reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the East Valley Sheriff’s Station, 2101 E. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
The private, nonprofit organization’s immediate past president, Tim McClintock, will also be recognized for his service during the reception, as will volunteers Vita Floyan, Frances Cedergren and Jeannette Baker.
Eight companies and organizations also will be honored for donating $500 to $1,000, and radio stations and newspapers will be recognized for their support.
The program has been operating since 1986 to solve felony crimes by giving rewards for information.
