Honey Subsidies

I find it quite irritating when politicians use the lame excuse that a program only costs $16 million, e.g., bee subsidy program (March 21), and thus doesn’t make a real difference on the federal deficit.
That’s more money by far than I will ever pay in taxes in my lifetime and certainly an amount that would make a significant difference in my checkbook. I am sure these same politicians, let alone the IRS, would quickly point out the error in my logic if I claimed that my federal tax was just a pittance of the total and therefore it wouldn’t make any difference if I didn’t pay it this year.
