HAIL TO BOB? Where did Rep. Robert K. Dornan (R-Garden Grove) get the idea to run for president (F1) in ‘96? Maybe in the New York Times? In a January spoof in its Sunday Magazine, written “in 2008,” the writer shows Dornan beating out Dan Quayle for the GOP nomination in ‘96, then getting thumped by Bill Clinton. . . . The magazine: “Dornan rushed to the retirement homes of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan for endorsements, but eschewed all invitations to be photographed with Mr. Bush.”
