BLUE-LINE THANKS: The recent killing of a Garden Grove police officer has been deeply felt by police officers throughout the county--and by those who hire them too. In Fountain Valley this week, the City Council issued a resolution just to thank its own small police force for work well done. Police Capt. Rod Gillman was on hand to accept. Too often, says Councilman John Collins, their work “goes unnoticed and unthanked.” He has some insight--his son is a police officer.
