* Donald L. Hicks has been appointed senior associate director for planning and marketing at UCI Medical Center in Orange. He will be responsible for capital planning and strategic marketing programs at the 493-bed, acute-care hospital that serves as the main teaching and research center for the UCI College of Medicine. Hicks was formerly vice president for marketing and development at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. In addition, Steve G. Wallin has been appointed executive director of the UCI Clinical Practice Group. He was previously chief executive officer at St. Jude Medical Group Inc. in Fullerton and the St. Jude Medical Group IPA, the physician managed health care organization.
