Economists Recommend Seeking Single-Digit Growth: A panel of the Chinese government’s 20 top economists has recommended single-digit growth this year, warning that a higher rate could lead to a sudden downturn, the Economic Daily reported. Summarizing the results of a recent symposium, the paper said 12.8% economic growth last year did nothing to relieve bottlenecks in raw materials and transport.
