On Assignment’s Quarterly Profit More Than Doubles

On Assignment Inc., a Canoga Park-based provider of temporary lab technicians and other science professionals, said its first-quarter net income more than doubled from a year earlier on a 28% rise in revenue.

In the quarter ended March 31, On Assignment’s net income climbed to $521,000 from $206,000. Its revenue rose to $8.9 million from $6.9 million.
