Bullfrogs Open Roller Hockey Season July 2

The Bullfrogs, Anaheim’s entry in the first season of Roller Hockey International, will begin play July 2 against the Salt Lake Bees at Anaheim Arena, the team announced Wednesday.

The regular season of 14 games will last seven weeks, with the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs.

Anaheim will compete in the Buss Division with the Los Angeles Blades, San Diego Thunder and Oakland Skates.

Tickets for home games will range from $6 to $22, with VIP seating for $50. Children under 7 will be admitted for $6 when accompanied by an adult. Admission will be free for children under 2. Tickets are available through the Anaheim Arena box office or by calling (714) 939-7663.

The league’s first draft will be Saturday, with Stephan Desjardins, the leading scorer on last year’s exhibition tour, expected to be the Bullfrogs’ first choice. Each roster will include a maximum of 12 players.

Chris McSorley, brother of Marty McSorley of the NHL Kings, will be the team’s coach.
