Walnut Student to Lobby Congress for Teen-Agers
Bob Hsiao, 14, of Suzanne Middle School in Walnut will lobby Congress on behalf of the nation’s youth at the fifth annual RespecTeen National Youth Forum, in Washington.
Bob was chosen from more than 12,000 students nationwide who entered letters they wrote to members of Congress in the RespecTeen “Speak for Yourself” contest. The students’ letters expressed their views on public policy issues.
During the Forum, which runs through Thursday, the students will meet with their respective U.S. representatives and senators to discuss pending legislation about issues affecting teen-agers.
The RespecTeen National Youth Forum is part of a nationwide program sponsored by Lutheran Brotherhood, a fraternal benefit society.
