* William S. Thompson has joined Pacific Investment Management Co. as managing director and co-chief executive. He will share executive management responsibilities with William F. Podlich, a founding managing director and current chief executive of the Newport Beach-based bond management company. Thompson was formerly chairman of Salomon Brothers Asia and before that, headed Salomon’s West Coast investment banking operation.
