ALBUM REVIEW : Neil’s ‘Exposed’ Full of Catchy Metal-Lite

Share

** Vince Neil, “Exposed,” Warner Bros. It’s business as expected on the solo debut from former Motley Crue singer Vince Neil. “Exposed” is full of catchy, competent metal-lite, with guitar pyrotechnics courtesy of ex-Billy Idol sideman Steve Stevens. The hyper, hormonally driven cliche-rockers, propelled by Neil’s trademark nasal vocals, would likely have fared better in ’83 than they do in ’93. Ultimately, “Exposed” settles for flash and fashion over originality, and the result is bombastic fluff.

New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
