New President and Chief Operating Officer of Irvine’s Sony Trans Com Named

Douglas Cline has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Sony Trans Com, an Irvine in-flight entertainment systems supplier. He succeeds John B. Landstrom, who will continue as vice chairman of Sony Trans Com until July of this year, when he plans to retire. Before his promotion, Cline was vice president of operations/engineering. Before joining Sony Trans Com, Cline was president of Global Navigation Systems for six years and started the Cline Corp., a voice and data security systems supplier to the executive aircraft market.
