Affordable Housing Agency Moves

Share

A city department that focuses on preserving and producing affordable housing has opened new offices at 400 S. Main St. in downtown Los Angeles.

The new location, accessible from a public parking lot on the northeast corner of 4th and Main streets, will allow the 2-year-old department to consolidate its Housing and Rent Stabilization divisions and will spearhead a revitalization of the old downtown area by leasing the space.

Besides administering the Rent Stabilization Ordinance and several housing preservation and production programs, the department funds and works with nonprofit and community-based organizations, helping to determine housing needs and ways of achieving those needs. The department was formerly located at 215 W. 6th St.
