Supply-Siders and Taxes

Share

Again, a writer such as Kuttner tries to “prove” an untruth by stating two truths, which of course lead to an untruthful conclusion. It is pretty well documented that the tax cuts of 1981 did lead to greater revenue. The increase in the deficit was due to the increase in spending at a greater rate and much of that for the military, which had been weakened during the previous Administration. However, all wars cost money, even cold wars. Let’s hope that this time we can also win the peace.
