Tur Files Suit: KCBS-TV Channel 2 helicopter reporter Bob Tur filed a defamation suit in Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday against KTLA-TV Channel 5 and its entertainment reporter Sam Rubin. The lawsuit seeks more than $2 million in damages on charges that Rubin, in comments Tuesday on “The KTLA Morning News,” called Tur “the most dangerous pilot in the air or on the air.” On Wednesday’s newscast, Rubin stated: “Bob Tur believes that we suggested he was an unethical journalist . . . but by no means did our report intend to make that suggestion.” Matthew J. Fairshter, Tur’s attorney, said that those comments did not constitute a retraction. KTLA General Manager Greg Nathanson could not be reached for comment.
