FAR & FAR RIGHT: When Morton Downey Jr. hit it big in the late 1980s, rival right-wing TV host Wally George derided him often and vociferously for “stealing” his format. Now it seems that times have changed. . . . “We have now buried the hatchet,” George says. “We are joining forces to save America.” Translation: Downey, whose star has fallen in recent years, has a new syndicated series that will follow George’s daily show on Anaheim’s KDOC Channel 56 beginning on May 17.
