That compared to earnings of $803,000, or 7 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales were $12 million, down slightly from $12.8 million. For the first half of its fiscal year, the company reported a profit of $187,000, or 2 cents a share, down 11% from the $209,000, or 2 cents a share, a year earlier. Six-month sales declined 3% to $23.1 million from $23.8 million.
