* CESAR CHAVEZ: Approved a proposal to rename a portion of Sunset Boulevard, Macy Street and Brooklyn Avenue, between Figueroa and Indiana streets, Cesar Chavez Boulevard. The route goes through the districts of Councilmen Richard Alatorre and Mike Hernandez.

* $10,000 REWARD: Approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who raped and killed Vera Muriel MacDonald, 79. Her body was found Dec. 27, 1992, in a vacant building at 4322 W. Wilshire Blvd. in Mid-Wilshire.

* WALK OF FAME: Approved adding the name of Richard Pryor to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A ceremony for Pryor is scheduled at 6438 Hollywood Blvd. at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

How South-Central and Eastside representatives voted on selected issues.

* $200,000 SETTLEMENT OF LAWSUIT: Approved spending $200,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a woman who was seriously injured when a 300- to 400-pound tree branch fell on her while she and her family were attending a Mexican Independence Day celebration in September, 1990, at the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Park. Passed: 13-0. Voting yes: Alatorre, Joan Milke Flores, Hernandez, Nate Holden, Mark Ridley-Thomas and Rita Walters.

* DOGS IN PUBLIC PLACES: Approved a proposal by Councilwoman Ruth Galanter to prevent owners from allowing their leashed dogs to threaten, menace, attack or cause injury to people at playgrounds and beaches. The proposal stated that some dogs are trained to be aggressive and combative and their owners encourage them to frighten passersby. The city attorney was asked to prepare an ordinance for council approval that would make it unlawful for an animal to be used to scare people in a public place. Passed: 13-0. Voting yes: Alatorre, Flores, Hernandez, Holden, Ridley-Thomas and Walters.

* BRADLEY HONOR: Approved a proposal to name the south exhibit hall of the new Los Angeles Convention Center after retiring Mayor Tom Bradley. Some council members initially suggested the hall be named in honor of the late Councilman Gilbert Lindsay and questioned whether any public facility should be named in honor of a living person. But it was noted that the international terminal at Los Angeles International Airport is named for Bradley. Passed: 11-0. Voting yes: Flores, Hernandez, Holden, Ridley-Thomas and Walters. Absent: Alatorre.
