TRAVELING IN STYLE : Side Trips : Grecian Formula

Share

Sunny Greek islands, endless blue seas, charming villages and ancient archeological sites. Imagine touring such venerable beauty in the company of philistines whose idea of art is a neon Budweiser sign. Now imagine making the trip with watercolorist Pamela Rogers, who conducts “art studios/seminars” along the Aegean coast. The excursions are either land bound, with island-skipping by air, or yacht-board cruises. Participants visit galleries and artists’ studios as well as classical monuments, and Rogers offers informal guidance to those who want it. The trips, she adds, are open both to accomplished artists and beginners--to anyone, in fact, with a “creative spirit.”

The tour season runs from May through October; tours last from 10 to 15 days and cost between $1,200 and $2,850 per person (double occupancy), including many meals but not including air fare to Greece and back.
