AM International Files for Bankruptcy: AM International Inc. filed a petition seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors. The company, based in the Chicago suburb of Mt. Prospect, Ill., makes and sells printing equipment, supplies and services. It said in March that its fiscal second-quarter loss had widened to $10.8 million, or 27 cents a share, from $6.5 million, or 18 cents, in the year-ago period. The company blamed the loss for the quarter ended Jan. 30 on weakness in the global graphics industry and continued problems with the U.S. economy.
