LOS ANGELES : Sexual Harassment Suit Against USC Thrown Out
A judge threw out a woman’s sexual harassment lawsuit against USC on Tuesday, saying her lawyer had failed to prove a basis for the action and that he may have filed too late.
Roksaneh Khosravi alleged that she was sexually harassed by two teachers at the University of Southern California’s dental school, then penalized by having her records for five years of school erased from computer memory when she sought redress.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Edward Ross said that he did not condone the alleged conduct, but that he and other judges had given Khosravi’s lawyer, Mohammed Nadim, three chances to file more specific complaints and he had failed.
If the allegations are true, he said, “sexual harassment of this type certainly has to be stamped out. The conduct of these people is deplorable.” He also ruled that the university is not responsible for acts by individuals.
