LONG BEACH : $20 Million Worth of Cocaine Seized; 3 Held
Long Beach police on Tuesday announced the arrests of three men and the seizure of 440 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street sale value of more than $20 million.
Alejandro Echavarria, 27, of Hollywood; Jose Nevarez, 28, of Huntington Park, and Guillermo Inguez, 23, of Compton, were booked for suspected drug trafficking and held on $5-million bail each, said Long Beach Police Sgt. Rick Moorbeck.
Echavarria and Nevarez were arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday in Long Beach after police stopped a van driven by Echavarria and found the cocaine in cardboard boxes inside, Moorbeck said. Inguez was arrested after police obtained a search warrant for a location in the Long Beach area, Moorbeck said.
