Fiat Buys Control of Maserati: Italian auto maker Fiat said it has taken control of sports car maker Maserati in a purchase from the U.S.-based group De Tomaso Industries Inc. Turin-based Fiat, owned by the Agnelli family, said it paid $51 million and now owns 51% of Maserati. Fiat bought a 49% stake from De Tomaso in 1989.
