Nation IN BRIEF : MASSACHUSETTS : Gay Partners to Get Benefits at Harvard

Harvard University said it will extend health insurance coverage to the partners and children of its homosexual faculty and staff members. A faculty-staff committee endorsed the move earlier this week. The coverage for “same-sex domestic partnerships equivalent to marriage” may be available as early as the next benefit enrollment period in November. To qualify, couples must register in Cambridge or another city that recognizes same-sex marriages.
