QUACK SURFERS: Surfers near the Huntington Beach pier will have company today. The waves will be pummeled at 11 a.m. with several thousand rubber ducks dropped off the pier’s end for a race to shore. Ducks cost $10 a head, for a cause--to benefit the Huntington Beach Community Clinic. . . . For the winning owner: a cruise to Mexico. Duck launcher Lloyd Skaggs says the ducks took about an hour to reach the shore in a trial run: “One started out wanting to go to Long Beach, but it regained its senses.”
