DYNAMIC DUOS: Hard-rockers Helmet collaborating with rappers House of Pain? Slayer and Ice-T? Dinosaur Jr. and Del the Funky Homosapien?

That’s what we’re told is part of the lineup for the soundtrack being recorded for the movie “Judgment Night,” an urban thriller starring MTV crank Denis Leary. Amanda Child and Happy Walters, who manage House of Pain (whose Eric Shrody has a major role in the film) and Cypress Hill, had the idea to pair rockers and rappers for an album’s worth of original songs to accompany the film.

Also confirmed for the project are couplings of the Lemonheads and the Pharcyde, Cypress Hill and Stone Temple Pilots, Teenage Fanclub and P.M. Dawn, and Faith No More and the Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. The movie won’t be out until September, but the album should be here by July.
