Teacher Muzzles Pupils, Resigns Amid Uproar

RUTHERFORD, Pa. —
A substitute teacher who silenced three talkative second-graders by taping their mouths shut quit after outraged parents called for her dismissal.
The teacher, who was not identified, asked that her name be removed from the Central Dauphin School District’s list of fill-in teachers, said Carolyn Dumaresq, superintendent.
