‘Boxing’ Seminar: “Boxing Helena,” the controversial film about a woman whose limbs are amputated by an obsessive surgeon, will be the subject of a “case study” hosted by Independent Feature Project/West Thursday. The film, which is slated for Sept. 3 release, will be screened at 7 p.m. at the WGA Theater. Afterward, a panel, including director Jennifer Lynch, producer Carl Mazzacone and production attorney Bob Wyman, will discuss the movie’s tumultuous history and potential impact on the independent film business. “Boxing Helena” received considerable attention recently when Kim Basinger was hit with a $7.4-million court judgment for reneging on a verbal agreement to star in the film.
